ON FRIDAY, November 13, 2009, ten new members were inducted into the Norwich City Hall of Fame at a celebratory dinner at Carrow Road.
Trustees of the Norwich City Football Club Historical Trust agreed to elect five new members and supporters were then asked to cast their votes for an individual from each of the following eras: 1945-1960, 1960-1975, 1975-1990, 1990-2000 and 2000-2009. The trustees' choices and supporters' votes then resulted in the following names being added to the Norwich City Hall of Fame:
Arthur Turner (City's first manager)
Robert Collinson (Club's first captain)
Bob Young (City's manager through the difficult Second World War years) Russell Allison (long-serving groundsman)
Roger Munby (former Chairman)
Tom Johnson (striker from the 1945-1960 era)
Peter Silvester (striker from the 1960-1975 era)
Mark Barham (midfielder from the 1975-1990 era)
David Philips (midfielder from the 1990-2000 era)
Dion Dublin (striker from the 2000-2009 era)
These 10 Norwich City personalities now join the initial 100 members of the Hall of Fame plus the 10 who were inducted in 2006 to make a proud list of 120 Norwich City greats.
The induction evening, which included a three-course meal and Kevin Piper acting as MC for the evening saw a host of Hall of Fame guests interviewed and some great memories recalled.
World Cup winner Martin Peters and former Carrow Road hero Darren Huckerby were both present at the event and as existing Hall of Fame members, both men had the honour of presenting new members with their mementos of the evening.
